A Commitment to Care

Business and civic leaders play an essential role in the success of Treads & Threads. We thank our event chairs and honorary chairs – past and present – and our steering committee members for their efforts to make Treads & Threads one of Kansas City’s most memorable philanthropic events.

Event Chairs

For Mark and Holly Faber, chairing Treads & Threads isn't just an honor, it's personal. His father died of cancer, and she lost her brother to leukemia. Her father is a prostate cancer survivor.

Mark Faber is the senior vice president, business operations with Sprint Center/AEG and Holly Faber is a registered nurse working with Urology in the operating room at The University of Kansas Hospital.

Honorary Chair

A political legend, retired Senator Bob Dole bravely served his country in World War II, served Kansas on the state and national levels for more than 35 years and served the U.S. Senate as Minority Leader and Majority Leader. A prostate cancer survivor, he serves as honorary chair of Treads & Threads 2009.

Emcee

Larry Moore, KMBC-TV News anchor and cancer survivor, returns in 2009 for his eighth year as emcee.
